The SRC was established by Jennifer Hoffiz after the frustration and disappointment of seeing families want to participate in the ISP yet not being able to afford it. The disappointment of these families hit close to home as Jennifer has a child of her own who is recovering from Autism.
“Every child with Autism not only needs this program but should have access to it in order to help them recover”, says Jennifer.
There are so many services and programs these children need to get them recovered that it puts a tremendous financial burden on the families. Our organization was established to provide access to children who need the program yet cannot afford it through scholarships and other fundraising programs. The SRC concentrates its efforts primarily in the following three areas:
Philanthropy and services: We provide services to children and adults with Sensory processing difficulties or disorder. In doing so, we have established a “scholarship fund” to provide services to individuals who are in need of participating in our services but whose financial circumstances would otherwise preclude participation. For these individuals, our fund awards either a full scholarship or a partial scholarship to allow the individual the ability to receive the services.
Research: We value and support research programs focused on the development of sensory integration theory and its applications. The purpose of our research fund is to field studies, present data, and publish results in scientific journals and special interest publications.
Expansion: We would like to open up other facilities across the country and even worldwide in areas that have no access to the ISP and other services. We are also interested in expanding the scope of our program and services.
