Tired of not getting the services you want for your child because it costs too much or you don’t qualify for a scholarship because your income is too high?
Our Apples for Autism program is a FUNdraising opportunity for parents, children with Autism, siblings, and friends, to get involved and help raise funds for Autism treatments. Nearly all money raised will go towards the cost of the treatment program you select through Sensory Research Center or any center that uses the ISP program across the country.
We wanted to as part of our mission statement, to educate the general public of the needs of children with Autism, and other Sensory Processing Disorders. One of the needs these children often have is the inability to eat candy, cookies, and ice cream or other things regular children get. It only makes sense to educate the public at the same time of the tremendous needs these children are faced with every single day. We often look at apples as “God’s candy” for our little ones.
1. Sell individual apples- Set up a booth or a table at a local grocery store, fair, or anywhere and we will provide you with a sign with our custom logo and donation forms and brochures. You purchase the apples yourself, you can set them in pretty baskets or bowls and sell them individually for a donation of any amount. You can even sell them at schools and sporting events. This is a great, low cost effective way of getting donations of $2, $5, $10, or even $20 with virtually very little cost going towards the item for sale itself.
2. Sell boxes of apples- We have an organization that we work with that can supply you with paperwork and everything you need to sell boxes. Sell 250 boxes of apples and that will be enough to have your child go through the program. Again, you can set up a booth or table, or do it like a magazine drive and get many people involved.
3. Sell specialty caramel apples. We have 2 different organizations that provide specialty apples that range from $8.00 to $16.00 per apple. These are fantastic apples and really delicious! People love them and will be easy to resell for future donations to Autism treatments.
4. Team up with local markets and stores and have cashiers ask customers if they would like to donate money to the “Apples for Autism” campaign. Customers can then get a paper apple and put it up on the wall of the store. To make this more fun and inviting, you can even make your own paper tree and have the apples placed on the tree.
Have fun, be creative and get others involved. The opportunities are limitless!
